WHAT IS RBC RACE FOR THE KIDS?
RBC Race for the Kids is an exciting series of seventeen charitable runs supporting children's causes in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Kuala Lumpur, United Kingdom, Trinidad & Tobago, The Bahamas, Jersey, Barbados, and the United States.
Increasing in popularity every year, RBC Race for the Kids events have attracted more the 170,000 participants to date and raised over $30MM for children's charities around the world.
2019 is the fifth year RBC Race for the Kids has been held in Sydney. Our goal is to raise over $130,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities Sydney (RMHC Sydneyattractttrace 1,000 runners. WHEN IS THE EVENT?

WHERE IS IT?
RBC Race for The Kids will be held at Sydney Park, St Peters.
The start line and festival zone will be located on the grass area next to the Sydney Park Kiosk.
HOW LONG IS THE RACE?
RBC Race for the Kids consists of 2 events a 5km run and a 2km family route.
RBC Race for The Kids 5km course can take from 15 minutes to over an hour, depending if are walking, jogging or running. The shorter family event could take up to an hour.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT TO TAKE PART?
There is no age limit - everyone is welcome! It's important to note that children remain the responsibility of the primary carer at all times.
HOW DO I COLLECT MY RACE PACK?
There are a few different options for in-person collection:
- 1 Martin Place on Thursday 21st March from 11.00am to 2.00 pm
- 1 Martin Place on Friday 22nd March from 11.00am to 2.00 pm
- Sydney Park on Saturday 23rd March from 9.00am to 4.00pm
- Sydney Park on Sunday 24th March starting at 7.00am

CAN I BRING A PRAM, WHEELCHAIR, SCOOTERS, BIKES ETC. ALONG TO THE EVENT AND PARTICIPATE IN THE RACE?
Yes, you certainly can! The route is on hard surfaces around the park and there are a few steep hills but is suitable for all. Please be mindful of other racegoers and park users when using the paths and remember to stay to the left if you are a walker.
WILL THERE BE WATER STATIONS?
Water stations will be available at various points throughout the race route and within the finish festival zone. Within Sydney Park there are many public water bubblers and dog drinking stations.
WILL THERE BE TOILETS AVAILABLE?

WILL THERE BE CHANGING FACILITIES?
We encourage all participants to arrive ready in their running gear as changing areas are limited. There are plenty of toilets that can be used if needed.
Baby change and accessible facilities are located at the park toilets closest to the cafe. Additional accessible facilities will be located in the St John's Ambulance tent.
ARE PETS ALLOWED?
Sydney Park is a dog friendly park, all event participants are advised if bringing their dog to ensure they are on a leash and start at the back of field. Please remember that RBC Race for the Kids is a child friendly event and has many attendees, if your dog is sensitive to children or large crowds please leave them at home.
ARE FOOD AND DRINK AVAILABLE?
Refreshments will be available for purchase throughout the event site. We encourage everyone to bring their own water bottle and we will provide a water fountain so the bottle can be topped up.
DO I HAVE TO RUN?
You can run, jog, skip, walk, push a pram or waltz your way to the finish line. All we ask is that you remember that other participants and park users are out on the course and to take care. If you are walking please keep to the left to allow runners to pass you.
IS THERE A BAG CHECK?
We will be offering a bag check at the event site. Volunteers will be positioned in this area for the entire event, so you can pick up your checked items when you are done for the day.
Note: RBC Race for the Kids is not responsible for any lost or stolen items, we encourage participants to keep valuables on them!
WHAT IF I CAN'T FINISH THE 5KMS?
That's ok - there is no pressure to complete the full 5kms. For those who prefer a shorter
DO I GET A MEDAL?
All race participants get a medal as they cross the finish line.
IS THERE MEDICAL ASSISTANCE?
St John's ambulance staff will be onsite throughout the event. St John's will be stationed at the festival zone and will roam through the course while the race is on.
Course cyclist marshals will be onsite throughout the race.

IS THE ROUTE ACCESSIBLE TO WHEELCHAIR USERS?
The route takes you through the park on hard surfaces. The family run is a flat course however, the 5km route does include some steep hills. Please be aware that the main event area is on grass.

There is limited parking at the event site- we suggest you take public transport if possible
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
RBC Race for the Kids Sydney will take place rain or shine. If the forecast suggests inclement weather, don't forget to pack your rain jacket!
